Great Idea, Can You “Pitch” It?, Part II

In part one of this series, we identified the fundamental tools required to “act” in a credible manner when presenting; however, if your content isn’t organized you’ll appear to be full of smoke and mirrors. You’ve seen “that guy”, he’s got a lot of charisma, he sounds good, looks good and you initially think he presents well. There’s just one problem – What the hell is he talking about? When you get beyond the smoke and mirrors, you realize he’s unorganized, continues to repeat himself and you can’t wait for him to be done. Don’t be that guy!
In this segment of the series, I want to share a great entrepreneur pitch template from the friendly guys at DFJ Mercury in Houston, Texas. DFJ is an early stage VC firm , meaning they listen to a lot of companies who have not raised any money and in some cases don’t have a product or a business plan . As a result of their specialty, these guys see thousands of busniess plans and listen to hundreds of pitches annually, so they are experts of a well organized pitch.
